Paul McCartney announces new show, new tour

Paul McCartney made it official Wednesday that he will be “Out There!” for a series of new concerts this summer, also announcing a June 22 show at Poland National Stadium in Warsaw. The announcement confirms earlier rumors we reported that he would be playing Poland.

The new tour name signals an end to the “On the Run” tour, which began at Yankee Stadium on July 15, 2011, and ended on Nov. 29, 2012 in Edmonton, Canada after 37 shows.

Ticket details for the new show will be announced soon, the website said.

The show is the second concert the former Beatle has confirmed for this year. In February, he revealed he would headline the diverse lineup at this year's Bonnaroo Festival, also in June.

But McCartney said today more shows throughout the world are in the works, including cities they've never played before, the announcement hinted. It said more dates will be revealed in coming weeks.

Recent rumors have had McCartney negotiating for shows in Brazil and South America. Nothing has yet been confirmed in either country yet or anywhere else.
