Recently, over on the Beatles Examiner side, we reviewed the "A Hard Day's Night" Blu-ray and said we thought you could take it or leave it because there was not an incredibly big difference in the picture between the Blu-ray and regular DVD.
Shortly after, we decided to pick up the Paul McCartney "The Space Within Us" Blu-ray (also available from Amazon.ca in Canada) to see how that fared.
What a difference! The picture is dynamite in HD. Paul and the band almost literally pop out from the screen. "Helter Skelter," for one, is absolutely stunning.
The sound options, strangely, are fewer on the Blu-ray than the regular DVD, which has Dolby digital 2.0, Dolby digital 5.1 and DTS. The Blu-ray has only PCM 2.0 stereo and PCM 5.1 surround with no DTS. And our Blu-ray, however, didn't have the regular DVD's booklet.
The Blu-ray, however, has a nice jukebox option where you can play up to 10 songs of your choosing.
But for video quality alone, Paul McCartney "The Space Within Us" on Blu-ray is well worth a look.

Interesting that we have this on BD, but not "Good Evening New York City"
Just getting into BluRay Steve? If so, this is an invaluable website for all BluRay and for deals. Most of my BluRays have been purchased for $15 or less.
