With production just one month away, more and more casting choices are being revealed for next summer's Marvel blockbuster sequel to "The Avengers." On Thursday, February 6 Variety broke the news that actor Paul Bettany will play the Vision in the upcoming Marvel sequel "Avengers: Age of Ultron" which is scheduled for release in 2015.
Bettany is no stranger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has been the voice of Jarvis, the artificial intelligence system created by billionaire Tony Stark, in the "Iron Man" trilogy. The Vision is an android that was created by Ultron, the villainous robot, and the Vision was also a member of The Avengers.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will arrive in theaters on May 1, 2015 and will be directed by Joss Whedon. The first film was also directed by Whedon and had the largest box office opening in the United States with over two hundred million dollars. The sequel will begin production in May and will film on three continents. Filming locations include London, South Africa, Los Angeles, South Korea and Italy.
All of the principal cast will return including Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill. Newcomers include James Spader as Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlett Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver and Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Wolfgang von Strucker.
