Paul Bearer passes away

William Moody who has long been associated with WWE legend The Undertaker as manager Paul Bearer passed away yesterday afternoon. Moody, who was days shy of his 59th birthday was said to have been in poor health for months. Details of the cause of death are unknown but Moody had constant problems with his gallbladder as well as morbid obesity. The WWE had paid for gastric bypass surgery which Moody, at the time, said had saved his life.

A lifelong fan of professional wrestling Moody broke into the business the way many a manager, including Paul Heyman and Jim Cornette did, by taking photographs. Moody would go on to work as Percy Pringle III in Texas for Fritz Von Erich and manage future Mid-South and WWE star Rick Rude as well as an early version of The Ultimate Warrior.

From there Moody came to the WWE as Paul Bearer and would be the perfect compliment for The Undertaker. Moody's shoot vocation was that of an actual mortician, something he would continue to do in-between his wrestling bookings.

The wrestling world is saddened by the loss of Moody who was a friend of many in the business.

Moody is survived by two sons Michael and Daniel, his wife Diana passed away in 2009 due to complications from breast cancer.
