Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s recent date should make Twihards happy. According to an April 5 report by Pop Sugar, they were spotted looking very cozy during a recent lunch date in Los Angeles. So is Rob making a mistake by finally forgiving Kristen for cheating on him?
K-Stew dressed to impress her man with her shabby Converse shoes, cut-off shorts, a Beach Boys T-shirt and a backwards baseball cap. A source observed that Robsten looked “really happy and lovey-dovey,” and the couple was even photographed holding hands. Twihards might be thrilled about this development, but it’s always possible that Rob is being duped.
Kristen Stewart doesn’t seem like the type who would stage photo ops to improve her public image, but her behavior is getting a little suspicious. Early in March she was photographed hitting the batting cages with costar Taylor Lautner, and this was very likely a photo op that was set up to make Twihards happy -- Taylor was Robert Pattinson's stand-in since Rob wasn't around to pose with Kristen. K-Stew also looked way too cheerful a few days later when she and Rob took a photo with a fan during a date. Meanwhile Rob looked less than thrilled to pose with his girlfriend. The fan in the photo said that Kristen had to convince Rob to take the photo with her, and she playfully called him an a**hole for being so difficult.
Kristen probably knew that the photo with that fan would end up online, so that’s probably why she tried to look so happy -- she wants the world to know that she and Rob are absolutely back together. So since he’s finally forgiven her for cheating, everyone else should, too. The couple’s most recent date could have been another photo op planned by Kristen since she obviously chose a place to hang out that was easily accessible by the paparazzi, and she made sure that she held hands with Rob while they took a walk outside.
So why should a gal like Kristen who values her privacy so much start praying that she attracts a little paparazzi attention? It’s simple, really -- she's pulling a Kim Kardashian because she wants to rescue her image. In addition to using photos to prove that all has been forgiven, she seems to be trying to display a warmer, more open side that fans haven’t seen very much of. She can’t rely on “Twilight” anymore, so she has to do whatever it takes to prove to her fans that she’s worthy of their continued support to ensure that they keep buying tickets to her future films. And a great way to make her fans feel better about her is by shedding her shrewish, standoffish image so that people quit seeing her as a dirty cheater with a bad attitude.
Of course her plan could backfire and make Rob uneasy if she pushes this publicity ploy too hard. He still seems to really value his privacy, and he doesn’t look as comfortable with being out in public with Kristen. But according to Perez Hilton, Kristen has a plan to keep her man -- she’s also going to give him plenty of space. It’s allegedly killing Kristen that Rob doesn’t want to spend every waking moment with her, but here’s what a source said about K-Stew giving in to his demands: "Kristen has insisted a few times that Robert should go out solo with his friends, which has meant he hasn’t felt trapped. She realized that after the whole cheating scandal she became too clingy with Robert in her desperation to save the relationship. He was insistent that they didn’t need to live in each other’s pockets and she’s beginning to be happy with that. It’s given their relationship a new lease of life, but time will tell in the long run if they are meant to be together.”
Apparently Rob is listening to Kristen and enjoying a little time out with boys, because he was recently spotted partying with Vince Vaughn and Joaquin Phoenix. Perhaps they gave him a little man-to-man relationship advice.
The biggest worry Rob should have right now is this: Kristen might be working on their relationship for the sole purpose of improving her image. It's possible that she doesn't have strong feelings for him anymore and that she just doesn't want to break up because it would make her look bad.
So while Kristen Stewart is trying hard to put on a happy face and is convincing Robert Pattinson to go on dates that work like paparazzi flypaper, things probably aren’t as perfect as they seem. Maybe Kristen is just a better actress than everyone thought.
