As reported by Centric TV on Wednesday April 30, soulful powerhouses Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole are set to join the broadway musical production of 'After Midnight' beginning in June.

The site notes that the news of LaBelle, Knight and Cole joining the production comes just a day after the musical scored seven Tony Award nominations in the categories of Best Musical, Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical, Best Costume Design of a Musical, Best Lighting Design of a Musical, Best Sound Design of a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical and Best Choreography.

The plot is a trip down memory lane revisiting the times when hearing live music at the legendary Cotton Club, compliments of Duke Ellington, was a grand event to see "after midnight." With past performances to date by the likes of Fantasia, Dulé Hill, Toni Braxton, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Vanessa Williams, these newly added triple threat vocalists are guaranteed to send the musical to its highest level of success with a string of nights to remember.

Musical direction is by Wynton Marsalis as reported by Star Ledger, who hand-picked the onstage big band. Warren Carlyle directs and choreographs and also received multiple Tony Award nominations.

LaBelle will be first to take the stage in the production beginning on June 10 - 29, Knight will step in after from July 8- Aug. 3 and Cole will wrap up the trio's Summer performances on Aug. 5 - 31 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The ladies are prepared to cover Ellington's "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," ''Stormy Weather" and ''On the Sunny Side of the Street."
