Pats stun Texans at Reliant Stadium

Despite some late game comeback by the Houston Texans, they were not fortunate enough to withstand the comeback of the New England Patriots and QB Tom Brady in a 34-31 loss.

The Texans have managed to lose ten straight games as they fall to 2-10 on the season. If the NFL Draft were held today the Texans would have the first pick.

"We had a lot of opportunities to make plays ourselves, just didn't make enough," said coach Gary Kubiak who returned to sidelines since his mini-stroke on November 3rd.

Tom Brady was spectacular and finished with 317 yards passing to go along with 2 touchdowns and one interception in the victory.

"I wish we could start fast and put the foot on the gas pedal the whole way," Brady said. "Whatever we're doing is not good enough, and we can't keep getting behind because you have to play too well in the second half to overcome."

Texans running back Ben Tate who ran for 102 yards, opened up the game with a 8 yard touchdown run in the first quarter for the 7-0 lead.

The Patriots finally scored late in the first quarter when Brady found Rob Gronkowski on a slant for the 23 yard score.

Tate continued to dominate on the ground exposing the Patriots defense when he extended the Texans lead 17-7 on a 20 yard touchdown run.

With several different lead changes in the game, the second half proved to be the comeback opportunity the Pats were looking for. LeGarrette Blount ran up the middle for the 7 yard score and gave the Pats the 28-24 lead in the fourth quarter.

Two 53 yard field goals made by kicker Stephen Gostkowski sealed the deal for the Pats, and put the nail in the coffin for the Texans season.

Andre Johnson finished with eight receptions for 121 yards, became the 15th player in NFL history with 900 career receptions.

Despite the victory, Coach Bill Belichick understands that they're many improvement that still have to be made.
"It's not the way we want to play. Hopefully, I can find a way to coach better than I've done, find a way to get ahead," said Belichick.

It was the second week in a row that the Patriots have to comeback to gain victory. They overcame a 24 point deficit against the Denver Broncos at Foxboro last Sunday.

Case Keenum completed 50% of his passes and 271 yards on the day along with one interception.
