Trumbull Kitchen in Hartford is hosting a dinner on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, beginning at 6 p.m., pairing craft tequila cocktails featuring Patron Tequilas created by mixologist Derek Vitale with Mexican-inspired dishes by executive chef Chris Torla.
Begin with antojitos and pyrat cocktail with Patron Citronage during the reception. Then move to Cayo de Haco al Guajillo, seared scallops in guajillo pepper sauce with avocado relish paired with a Silver Southside with Patron Silver. The Enchiladas con Pipian, corn tortillas fileld with chicken and smothered in spicy pumpkin seed mole, accompany a cocktail called "La Nina" made with Patron Reposado.
The meat course is Tempiquena, a grilled skirt steak with rajas, enchiladas suiza, and sides of black beans and guacamole, nicely matched with a Smoked Agave Old Fashioned with Patron Anejo. For dessert you have Tamales de chocolate, enhanced with golden raisins and mint and accompanied by Patron Dark Cocoa-spiked coffee.
