The New England Patriots have made some questionable moves lately, and they continued to do so on Thursday. According to CBSsportsline.com, the Patriots signed wide receiver Austin Collie. It looks like Collie is expected to play this weekend too.
With Terrell Owens still available, the signing of Austin Collie shows how deep the blackballing of T.O. really is. Yet, this is not about Owens playing football. This is about Collie staying alive after a big hit. There are some people that should not be in the NFL and he is one of them. However, skill Wise, he's on the level with most of the receivers in the league.
Every time Austin Collie gets hit hard, he lays motionless on the field. It is the scariest sight to see, and frankly no one should have to see it again. The NFL supposedly has all these rules about safety. Then you realize that they don’t care about any player except Tom Brady and a few other quarterbacks.
During the preseason, Collie signed with the 49ers, but Jim Harbaugh said that he didn’t fully recover from his knee injury. But is anyone asking if he recovered from these head injuries? Let's hope he continues to be healthy.
Notes: TE Zach Sudfeld has been released by the Patriots with Gronkowski's return to action.
