Patriots inform Darryl Richard and Terrence Nunn that they will be released

The Patriots have informed WR Terrence Nunn and DL Darryl Richard that they will both be released. Both players are likely candidates for the practice squad.

Nunn may not make it to the practice squad, as the Boston Herald is reporting that a few other clubs have already shown interest in the wide receiver.

Nunn went undrafted out of college and actually sat out a year before signing with the Patriots this offseason. He was considered a long shot to make the final squad, but had a spectacular training camp and backed it up with some quality performances in preseason games.

Nunn is an NFL caliber wide receiver, there just wasn’t any room on the Patriots’ roster.

Richard fell victim to a numbers game as well. He will almost certainly be signed to the practice squad.

These two cuts bring the Patriots roster down to 60.
