Patrick of Ireland comes to Pacifica in the guise of Michael Reardon on St. Patrick’s Day.
Reardon has memorized the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, as well as the Book of Revelation, and performs them dramatically worldwide. Directed by Patrick Lane, Reardon presents a contemporary translation of scripture using and the ancient oral tradition with a blend of music, lighting and costuming.
Taking a slight diversion from scripture, Reardon studied the writings of St. Patrick for this dramatization. Patrick of Ireland will be performed at 11 a.m., Sunday, March 17 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church located at 1165 Seville Dr, Pacifica, California.
Patrick Lane, Director, Musician and Lighting Artist, has designed the special effects and written the original music, all of which is done live for each performance. Reardon and Lane have given over 1,000 performances in cities throughout the United States as well as Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Republic of China, Europe, and Israel. They performed at the Biblical Institute of the Gregorian University in Rome, and at the American Church of Santa Susanna, and in Vatican City at North American College. They have also performed in Jerusalem, Capernaum, Tiberias, Nazareth, and the towns along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, all part of the cradle of Christianity.
In addition to Patrick of Ireland, Jay Salter of Santa Cruz will add another Irish flair with the bagpipes. Patrick of Ireland is free and open to the public. A traditional St. Patrick’s Day lunch follows with an opportunity to meet the artists and musician.
