Patrick Dempsey channels business McDreamy, buys Tully’s coffee chain (Video)

“Grey’s Anatomy” star, actor Patrick Dempsey (AKA McDreamy) has purchased Seattle coffee chain Tully’s for $9.15 million. The sexy actor tweeted the news from his verified Twitter account on Friday, Jan. 4.

News of his possible business venture with the troubled Tully’s coffee company surfaced in 2012. In his tweet from Friday, Dempsey shared:

“We met the green monster, looked her in the eye, and...SHE BLINKED! We got it! Thank you Seattle!”

In an official statement following his business transaction, the “Grey’s” actor explained:

"I'm thrilled that we won and I'm even more excited about saving Tully's Coffee and its hundreds of jobs. Tully's is a great company with committed employees, and with its base in Seattle, one of the world's greatest cities, I'm confident we will be able to successfully build the brand and help grow the economy.”

“Seattle has been very good to me over my career, and I am honored to have the privilege to own Tully's and work closely with the company's employees."

Patrick Dempsey hopes to build the troubled company back up.

“Grey’s Anatomy” actors seem to be both business savvy and charitable entertainers. In 2012 alone, cast members were involved with charitable foundations such as The Actor’s Fund, Save the Children, and Cure Mito.
