At the end of 2006 Patricia Jessamy received a very large raise. By 2010 she will make $225,000 a year. She is the highest-paid prosecutor in the state. What a state we live in. The worst prosecutor is also the highest-paid! The next election for state's attorney is in 2010.
I would love to hear the opinion of our other elected officials on the job performance of Patricia Jessamy. I would also love to see who endorsed her over Steve Fogelman in 2006. She crushed Mr. Fogelman. Oddly enough Mr. Fogelman is now the head of the Baltimore City Liquor Board. The same board that actually revoked the licenses of nuisance liquor establishments this past session. It would not surprise me if the loser of the 2006 election had done more good for Baltimore than the winner since that election.

Spot on, Adam. I hope that our City will finally wake up and demand that our leaders account for their actions. I'm sure that O'Malley will make sure a well-funded challenger awaits next time. And I think it's spelled Fog-le-man.
THIS GUY FOGELMAN HAS MADE MY YEAR. THE SUGAR HILL TAVERN WAS ALWAYS A BUNGHOLE AND THEY REVOKED THEM.
Sounds like O'Malley raised Jessamy's salary to ultimately make room for O'Malley's wife to take that position - I believe she is the past Attorney General Curran's daughter - I expect she will be as qualified as Mike Miller's son is for another political plum.
Is this really the best topic that the writer could find to write about this morning? Wow, news must be on the short.
I have always said that Baltimore has the "BEST" people running government "MONEY" can buy.
Cheerio! I just read the Sun article. You've scooped two decent stories in the last month, the first being the Fed Hill Bus Attack and now the matter of the State's Attorney's Stupid Spokeswoman. You're forcing the outher outlets to cover important stuff. Keep it rolling. And yes, it is true that the "loser" has clearly outperformed the Jessamy.
Not everything is nepotism related, William. It was a thankless job with a relatively low salary (prior to 2007), which is why we ended up with someone as unqualified as Pat Jessamy. If raising the salary draws more qualified and competent candidates in 2010, then it is money well spent.
Anton Keating was a great candidate for Baltimore City State's Attorney -- he had innovative policy ideas, a commitment to change, a really good sense of just what worked and what didn't in the existing State's Attorney's office.
Of course he was defeated in a landslide in 2002.
It is time for M. Burns to go. The only thing Marty is good at is starting fight with the police department. I suggest the readers take a closer look inside the State's Attorney office. According to many of the staff, Marty is disliked by most and she causes alot of in fighting among staff.
Mrs. Jessamy, if you want to save your job in 2010, get rid of Marty Burns. She is like a cancer. GET RID OF HER.
Mrs. Burns, You are a disgrace to all of us who work in the field of communications. As always, your lack of tack and professionalism. What goes around comes around.
If Mrs. Jessamy has in sense, she would terminate your employment.
It is time to start now people. 2010 is around the corner. Let's find a solid candidate to take out Jessamy. I, a former Jessamy support, have come to realize that it is time for her and all of her foot soliders to go.
I think someone should take a closer look at the district attorney's office and expose it. Let's start by taking a closer look at Ms. Burns.
Ms. Burns, you are the weakest link, GOOD BYE.
Wow, how nice it must be for her to do her job some absolutely horrifically and still get such a hefty raise.
2010 is far too distant. How many people have to be murdered and it be practically covered up by the State Attorney's office to give the perception of lessened violent crime in Baltimore?
Horrible. Jessamy and her spokes<expletive> need to be removed.
Maybe jessamy can get a job with Schmoke another braindead
Got something to say?
