Patience is more than a virtue

As Evangelicals we are required to be patient. Unconditional love requires this of us. Some churches show little patience in the growth of those who attend. Every journey toward Christ and being more like him is different. Everyone struggles differently. I have heard churches condemn their own wounded because they should have known better.

Worse I have heard Christ followers condemn churches because those who attend are not what they should be as Christ followers. I am so thankful that Christ shows us more patience than we show each other. We are admonished by New Testament writers over and over to be long suffering, forbearing, gentle, and patient with each other.

Families, friends, and churches all have division in them because of impatience. Search for a group of Christ followers where the leadership shows patience in the growth of its members. Again we are to harness the extreme power of using love to treat others in the way we wish to be treated. We live in a very impatient world. When we are patient with others we create a bubble of safety for those so needing of patience and love. Examine yourself Madison, and tell me what you think.
