Pathways to Policy success

For the second year in a row, the pathways to Policy Project which is a part of the yearly Womens Policy Summit in Sacramento California was a great success. Building on last years success, featuring such women leaders as Sheela Khule and Secretary of State Debra Bowen, the pathways to Policy Project brought together 70 young women from across the state of California and taught them the ins and outs of California policy and legislature, while introducing them to some of the most prominent female political figures in California.
The Summit was held at the downtown convention center with panels led by Senator Holly Mitchell, Senator Liu, Senator Hannah Beth Jackson and other prominent women. The topics centered around the major healthcare changes in our nation viewed through a gender lenses.
Kate Karpilow and Carrie Martin the founder and the organizer of the event, have much to be proud of and generous motivation to do the Pathways program again next year.

Senator Holly Mitchell brought the audience fire and ferocity while leading the panel on California Childcare policy and issues.
