Popular Christian evangelist Pat Robertson accused President Barack Obama of inciting “black-on-white violence” while discussing the senseless murder of an Australian baseball player in Oklahoma by three teenagers earlier this week.
The 700 Club host made his accusation on Friday, Aug. 23, saying:
We are having a tremendous amount of this black-on-white violence and I have a feeling that instead of bringing racial harmony, having an African-American president has exacerbated the problem.
Robertson went on to argue that Obama is trying to divide people by race and class:
He seems to be wanting to bring division among people instead of bringing them together; he is one of the most divisive leaders this country has ever had. It just seems he wants to rub the edges raw every chance he gets. There’s always something there to stir up controversy.
This is not the first time Robertson has made questionable and insensitive remarks. Previously, Robertson has claimed Islam is not a religion but a violent political system, warned parents that Halloween candy is cursed by witches, told his viewers that demons can attach themselves to second-hand goods, and even claimed that atheists were stealing Christmas.
About feminism Robertson once said:
The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians.
Robertson has also compared gays to murderers, rapists and thieves, claiming gays and lesbians can “change their sexual preference” just like murderers, rapists and thieves can change their preference for murdering, raping and stealing.
