The Pat Metheny Unity Group, which featuring the 20-time Grammy award-winning guitarist, performs tomorrow night with his all-star band at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami.

"I know our audience is in for an extraordinary musical experience," said John Richard, president and CEO of the Arsht Center. "Pat Metheny Unity Group's debut here promises to be another packed house for our Jazz Roots season," he added.

The concert features Metheny playing with the three musicians who helped him win his 20th Grammy last year; Chris Potter on sax and bass clarinet; longtime collaborator Antonio Sanchez on drums and Ben Williams on bass. Then known as "Unity Band," Metheny has since added a fourth musician, multi-instrumentalist Giulio Carmassi, and christened the ensemble Pat Metheny Unity Group.

"Pat Metheny has a body of work that is unparalleled in the jazz world. As well as being one of our most accomplished musicians, he has also actively participated in the academic world as a music educator," said music producer Larry Rosen, co-founder of the acclaimed Jazz Roots series. In fact, Metheny was, at the age of 18, the youngest instructor ever at the University of Miami, he noted.

The program will include highlights from Metheny's award-winning recordings as well as the ensemble highly anticipated recording Kin (← →). A 20-time Grammy Award winner, Metheny's versatility as an artist is beyond challenge, and the concert will offer a platform for him to showcase the broad spectrum of work that he has created over the years in one all-star ensemble.

Tickets for the Friday, Feb. 7 concert range from $25 - $130 and are available by calling the box office at 305-949-6722 or online.
