Food holidays are simply the best holidays. This Wednesday, Jan. 23, is National Pie Day. This holiday was created by the American Pie Council to honor these yummy pastries. On this day, the American Pie Council encourages pie lovers to participate by backing a pie for you and friends, or going pie shopping at your local bakery.
If you’re lucky enough, you might just get a free pie today! Keep an eye out for participating restaurant and bakery locations around the area that are offering sweet pie deals to customers in celebration of National Pie Day.
Besides enjoying a pie today, here are other ways the American Pie Council suggests you celebrate:
- Thank someone that has done a favor for you in the past by either baking or buying them their favorite pie.
- Spend time with your children, nieces and nephews, or younger siblings, and bake a pie together.
- Surprise your coworkers with a pie at work.
