On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, Rev. Louis R. Blakey, Jr. preached during the Watch Night Service at New Canaan Worship Center in Richmond, Virginia. Pastor Blakey used John 13:15-17 to extract four major points to give the congregation.
"I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them."
Pastor Blakey said these words will help people to have a happy new year.
Our faith will help us in every need. Faith is the glue that keeps everything together. Have faith by simply believing. Having bold faith will open more doors for you in the new year.
What we do speaks long than what we say. Do what you are supposed to do. Let your light shine in the new year by doing what you know is right to do.
"To be forewarned is to be forearmed." We can go forth knowing that we have already overcome. Whatever you need to go through, let God know that you will go through it so He will get the glory.
No one can be happy without a sense of belonging. You were created for relationship. When you think you have a problem with people, it is really God whom you have a problem with. Make sure you belong to God and do not think you belong to yourself. Jesus desires to have a relationship with you.
Pastor Blakey assured the congregation that if they would live by these four words, they will have a happy new year.
