Bishop Bobby Davis, the Connecticut pastor and founder of the Miracle Faith World Outreach Church in Bridgeport, dropped dead on Sunday after admitting to his parishioners that he had had an affair. Pastor Bobby Davis, according to a Fox News report on Thursday, wanted to cleanse his soul for an infidelity he had committed a long time ago.

After telling his parishioners to stay after service last Sunday, he begged forgiveness from his congregants for his past affair and then knelt over from an apparent heart attack. It is believed he suffered the fatal heart attack after receiving a mixed reaction from his parishioners in regards to the news of his committed sin. As parishioners were reportedly screaming “We forgive you” and “We love you,” he dropped to the floor and died. Davis has been the pastor of the church since its inception in 1967. Pastor Davis founded the church with his wife, Christine. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past June.

Davis’ death is still under investigation. He was pronounced dead at the Bridgeport Hospital.
