Buried Far Beneath Hope,
Waits Communication
I live my life by one law only – Karma. The Law of Karma is so stunningly beautiful by virtue of its sheer simplicity: “What I do, will eventually come back to me.”
This most basic of life philosophies overrides any kind of political affiliation or religious devotion. The consequences for either obeying or breaking this Universal Decree are not time sensitive; one's karma almost never returns over night, but this Mighty Rule is the Universe's most effective tool to administer Cosmic Justice, since a person's karma boomerangs back to them bearing the identical weight by end result of one's actions as it did when it was morally created with its original intentions.
The Law of Karma is so complete and Universally balanced, that many times we must wait for quite a while to see this Golden Rule of this world and beyond be brought to its full fruition. Because of this “karmic follow through of fruition”, we mortals must live our lives as intergalactic chess pieces, so as not to alter Einstein's Theory of Relativity by intentionally ending that which was created by a Higher Source. In other words:
Committing the act of Suicide directly breaks the Universal continuity of The Law of Karma, hence,
None of us are karmicly allowed to end our lives by our own hand.
This certainly has not been the case as of late.
Another Cosmic Rule of Thumb I adhere to:
An intuitive person must never leave themselves fully open or be open all the time. Some system of shielding must be incorporated.
For just as there have been a number of mortals (many of whom were technically still children) who are defying the Law of Karma these days by taking their own lives, so, too, have there been instances where upon learning about these young suicides, I was unable to shield myself from the current of unbearable pain these poor souls recently underwent during their final hours, leaving me exposed to being pulled down HARD! and dragged along the jagged floor of raw human misery until my psychic self was swept like a tattered ragdoll far out into the tempestuous, boiling waters of society's collective unconscious, eventually washing ashore onto the rough gravel of my conscious mind, barely breathing, and temporarily left for dead.
Many intuitives are empathically tapping into this swirling storm of societal suffering these days, only to discover in horror they cannot find their trusty psychic shields, which in psychic voyages of old, moved them out of the direct path of approaching emotional devastation. Instead, they realize far too late there is no escaping the ever closer rumble of this tsunami of the blackest of human emotions, as it is poised just before sweeping right through them.
This internalized “sturm und drang” of empathy is being mirrored by the intense interactions currently happening amongst the Planets of our Solar System, creating a collective environment of intuitive heaviness, as if it were bearing down upon the residents of Earth like an electrified wet blanket due to the Heavens being lit up like a Cosmic Pinball Machine in a suspended Tilt of karmic shock.

Saturn currently transiting through Libra, the sign The Lord of Karma functions best, or is exalted, in.
The retrograde motion of “The Great Benefic”, Jupiter, through the sign of Pisces occurring from last July 22nd to this upcoming November 19th.
The current conjunction of the Planet of Rebellion and Technology, Uranus, with transiting Jupiter which began on April 5th, 2010 lasting until March 11th, 2011.
The current conjunction of the Planet of Empathy, Neptune, with The Stone, or Asteroid, which represents Man's Deepest Pain, Chiron, in the sign of Aquarius. These heavenly bodies began to influence each other around last year's Winter Solstice, December 21st, 2009 and will continue to do so by conjunction until July 4th, 2012
Saturn's First Calling Card of Karmic Awareness Through Communication: Fort Hood
Between October 30th – November 8th, 2009 the planet Saturn resided in the very first degree of the sign of Libra, or in other words The Lord of Karma was positioned at 0 degrees Libra. This heavenly positioning was highly significant, not only because Saturn had just begun a new 2 ½ year trek transiting through the sign of its exaltation, Libra, but during those 8 autumn days in 2009, Saturn would be placed at a cardinal point, a concentrated period which has the potential to draw the attention of society at large through a notorious or famously memorable event based on a planet being positioned in the first degree of any of the 4 Cardinal signs – Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn.
The karmic thread begins here, for it will wind around and back again through the lairs of many monsters, but through it all there is one golden, unifying, theme that we all must hold on tightly to and notice that its sheen will at times be the only illumination available to guide us through the thickest of darkness: COMMUNICATION.
As stated earlier, in the fall of 2009, Saturn was at a cardinal point, being placed in the first degree of the cardinal sign of Libra. Libra is one of the 3 Air Signs, and the air sign's best mode of interaction with the world is through communication. Saturn is the Karmic Taskmaster. When this planet makes its presence known, it's safe to assume that you're not going to Porto Vallarta on the Pacific Princess, you're going to learn about responsibility, security, and resourcefulness. How does Saturn teach us these things? Through The Lord of Karma's favorite learning tools: fear, restriction and loss along with focusing on whatever you are lacking the most.
With Saturn's entrance into the element of Air through one of the cardinal signs, Communication would be brought to the forefront of society's attentions by clearly showing how little there was through an event that most Americans assumed would never happen – American military being killed on American soil. Because of the deplorable state of communications, Saturn amped up the shock factor by having this never before considered event take place on an American military base and carried out by an American soldier.
Remember, Saturn had just entered the sign it works best in, along with being at a cardinal point. Fort Hood was the first in what was to follow of a series of devastating occurrences, all with Communication as a continuing theme. This first Saturnine lesson in Communication was far from obvious since the din of chaos and confusion was deafening before the smoke cleared. The details behind the actual core event showed a man who displayed growing psychological imbalances and ironically, prior evaluations and disciplinary actions showed that he vocally communicated his grievances quite often before taking action on November 5th.
It was his superiors' lack of communication as to what to do with this troubled military personnel that made this event so tragic.
The alarm from this isolated event rippled outward, showing a breakdown of communication that had never been resuscitated and left for dead amongst the Libran ruled Department of Justice, that houses the FBI, and the Aries ruled Department of Defence, where the Pentagon sits. Saturn's entrance into the element of Air immediately gave society a pop quiz in Communications by reminding us of the homework assignment we had been given the last time The Lord of Karma had to give lessons in effective speech, during the years of 2001-2003 when Saturn transited through the air sign of Gemini.
To this day, the horror that is September 11th is shrouded in confusion and much blame is still being placed on the lack of communication to the general public from what was already known by the American government in the times that led up to that most crystal clear of Tuesday mornings in the month of September of 2001.
But Saturn has no interest in “woulds/shoulds”. The Lord of Karma deals only with the tangible or the clear lack thereof. The homework assignment in Communication was not what might have been known before September 11th but how well did we communicate after that date had passed. Since Saturn is considered an “earthy” planet, the tangible is most effectively brought to light through a favorite mode of action amongst all the earth signs – repetition.
Fort Hood clearly showed how badly we failed Saturn's pop quiz in Communications by repeating the finger pointing blame games that occurred after September 11th between the FBI and The Pentagon. Although the debating was quite loud, the intent between these 2 branches of Government made any kind of effective communication impossible, the pointless sparring bent the communicative dynamic from an effectively linear arc, to that of a never ending circle of wasteful sound.
The Next Outward Ripple of Saturnine Lesson Learning – The Misery of The Military
Saturn entered the communication based sign of Libra on October 30th, 2009. The ringed planet went into retrograde motion and dipped back into the sign of Virgo for a temporary respite from April until July 22nd of this year. Whenever Saturn transits through a particular sign, the polar opposite sign is also given Saturnine lessons, but only from the perspective of its one on one relationships due to its being on “The Descendant” or furthest point from the horizon. Saturn is exalted in Libra, therefore its messages and lessons are to be felt by all of society. The sign opposite of Saturn's exaltation would also have karmic lessons imparted for all to learn from, but their emphasis would be felt from a much more personalized perspective. Libra's polar opposite is Aries, the sign ruled by the planet of War, Mars. Mars rules over anything militaristic. From the end of July 2010 until October of 2012, the military has and will continue to be put under Saturn's scrutiny. Although many events affecting the military will be of global importance like Fort Hood, most of them will be of an individualized nature due to the military's “Descendant” positioning with Saturn's exaltation.
The Karmic Taskmaster let us know that work critically needed to be done with the Communications between various branches of our government during its first transit through Libra's cardinal point range. Saturn returned to that same place after leaving the sign of Virgo for the final time last July, and it was at that time the media began reporting of a recurring event happening to military personnel at an increasingly frightening rate – suicide.
I was driving to a client's and literally had to pull over upon hearing on the radio that the number of suicides amongst American military stationed in the Middle East had now risen above the total number of casualties killed there. My disbelief over hearing that statistic at first made me think of the massive losses incurred for no real tangible gain, which, in turn, revved my mind into comparing the pointlessness of The Vietnam War to what was currently happening in Afghanistan. Fortunately, I had kept the radio on as I did this.
After that horrifying piece of statistical information was relayed, the news took things to a personal level by interviewing key people connected to military personnel who had committed suicide. I wish I knew the name of the father who was subsequently interviewed so as to thank him for imparting what he knew while going through one of the most stressful events a human being can endure. His 21 year old son was an Army soldier who had killed himself just one month earlier.
The father made the monstrous effort to speak on the air to emphasize the lack of communication occurring within all branches of the American Military. It should be mentioned here that the suicide epidemic is occurring within the military reserves as well as those serving active duty. The father noticed how much his son's behavior had altered upon his return from the Middle East. He confronted his son when he was summoned to return there since the soldier was still enlisted in the reserves. The father pointed out that any kind of psychological therapy within the military is looked down upon and often at times ridiculed, even among higher ranked military personnel, since it is perceived to be a indication of weakness. Due to this fact, none of the branches of the US military possess any well established support systems to promote mental health or conduct therapeutic healing. The father described the last time he spoke to his son after he returned to Afghanistan, where he pleaded over the phone that he needed to speak to someone about seeking help. He received a defeated reply of “Dad, you can't talk to anyone about this stuff over here.”
Military Suicides – Extended
Still processing the devastating news I had heard in July, reports kept coming in of military suicides but with a much more ominous and terrifying overview. The Lord of Karma took note that nothing was being done in light of the rising number of individual suicides amongst military personnel, so in order to emphasize the seriousness of how badly Communication needed to be worked upon regarding this issue, the suicides were now the end result preceded by the military suicide victim killing everyone in his family first.
Out of respect for the victims and their families, I will not mention the details or names of any of the military murder-suicides that have occurred over the last 3 months. I must state that communications regarding any problems or issues these troubled soldiers were experiencing were non existent since reactions by their friends, family and co-workers were of complete shock with a recurring theme of nobody seeing these black events coming. Additionally, I surmise that because there was a total dearth of Communication, some of the soldiers must have deeply repressed their most damaging emotional wounds, given the devastating fact some of the murder victims were their pregnant wives or their beloved pets.
Anti-Communication: The Suicide of Tyler Clementi
I was once again driving in my car when I heard the news reporting the suicidal death of 18 year old Rutgers student, Tyler Clementi. The news briefly mentioned that the college Freshman had thrown himself off The George Washington Bridge due to his roomate spycaming him being intimate with another boy and broadcasting the footage on the internet.
I must make an aside and mention that a decently sized aspect to what I do is dealing with the dead. I have a rather vast experience of dealing with ghosts, haunted places as well as assisting to the best of my abilities the location of murder victims, etc. Because I'm no newbie in dealing with the dead, I have developed over time, a sturdy shielding process whenever viewing a photo of a murder victim or entering the location of a murder.
All that went out the window upon seeing photographs of Tyler Clementi.
In short, I was devastated. Too much came through. My emotions were uncontrollably distraught and my focus was close to non-existent. I could not believe how far out to the open sea of collective emotion I had been swept away by, the empathic pain from this young man was so powerfully forceful. And to repeat – I am no newbie to this kind of thing! I did find solace upon recovery to see that Tyler's death had affected the entire country, but was still angry at how far off my guard this event made not only myself but many other intuitives as well.
For something like this to have an effect on so many as it did, something had to be very, very, wrong at a foundational level of society's core.
Saturn is often associated with the ancient god, Janus, whom both January and the New Year Holiday are in honor of. The Romans depicted Janus as having 2 faces, one that looked back at the past, or passing year, the other that gazed ahead to the New Year, or future. Saturn takes Janus' 2 faced approached with his karmic lessons by presenting either a total dearth of the aspect needing to be learned, or far too much of it.
Continuing the New Year's theme, right before the world was about to ring in a new decade on New Year's Eve of 2010, I saw an interview with an authority of societal trends who was asked to give her predictions on societal changes for the upcoming decade with the intention to amuse. Her response left me looking like a Munch painting.
The woman was very knowledgable, relaying an answer that understandably possessed many sub-categories. When she began discussing the 2nd sub-category, I was left with my hands over my ears, silently screaming; never to hear the remainder of her predictions. It was here that she advised to look out for “a changing in truth as well as a decline in all kinds of direct communication” due to the main culprits of modern human communication, the internet and text messaging.
Saturn incorporated the help of The Great Benefic, Jupiter, as well as the planet that rules over the internet, Uranus, to emphasize how offensively wrong at a core societal level Communication was through the suicide of Tyler Clementi.
Jupiter not only expands, it exaggerates and amplifies. At the time of Tyler's death, Jupiter was in retrograde, or backwards motion alongside, or conjunct with, the planet of Technology, Uranus which also was going retrograde, both in the sign known for extreme emotional sensitivity, Pisces. Saturn took the theme of Communication for all of society to take heed of, by transforming it through Jupiterian amplification and distortion with the intention of having it witnessed by as many people as possible so that they, too, could be privy to information that should have been kept exclusively personal. When said another way, the actions of Tyler's roomate when he took footage that was not consented to or even known by Tyler and relayed it on the internet via his Twitter account.
Society was incensed that the petty actions (which were unto themselves overtly homoerotic I might add) taken by one spiteful and morally bereft individual would leave a tortured young man feeling he had no other alternative than to throw himself off a bridge, resulting in his broken corpse being found days later by police.
When Tyler's suicide was reported last Thursday, Venus and Mars, the planets that represent the archetypal male and female, were in the exact same location of the Heavens in the sign of sexuality, Scorpio. Saturn was showing all of us, that unbridled communication with no real purpose other than being viciously petty was clearly a bad thing, and this applied unequivocably to all sexes and all sexualities.
With Jupiter and Uranus' retrograde motions occurring in Pisces, society hopefully is noticing that whenever communication is created there is always a target intended for it to reach and there is always some emotional value to everything that is communicated. More and more people are saying things via computers and the internet they would never dare utter in the presence of others due to the lack of human interaction and the emotionally detached nature of technology. So much so, that a correlation is building between what is being said over the internet and what is not being emotionally accounted for as well as what is not being accepted in a morally responsible manner. I'm sure the legal team assembled to defend Tyler's roomate will be loudly stating that Tyler's death is listed as a suicide, decrying any allegations that the roomate is responsible for the senseless loss of a sensitive young student who was a promising musician. Once again, the 2 faces of Saturn show the opposite effects with the same theme given the intangible aspect to this crass overuse of communication. Technically, Tyler Clementi's death was not a murder. However, the overwhelming reactions to this one event will hopefully alter how communications are dealt with from now on, given the emotional consequences that have affected so many on such a core level regarding society's civility.
The Neptunian Generation of Bullies
As if there wasn't enough news to be rendered fetal by, on the same day that Tyler Clementi's suicide was announced, reports came in of more student suicides, the grim results of children who had been badly bullied. As with the military murder suicides, names and details are witheld in respect to the victims and their families.
Saturn reminds us through these children thinking that the only option for them is to die by their own hand that Communication is the core issue and it is crucial for society to work on improving it, especially in the case of bullying. These last events of blackest grief incorporate Saturn in its exaltation along with Jupiter and Uranus going retrograde in Pisces, but here is where the role of Neptune and Chiron's conjunction must be looked at most intently.
Both Neptune and the asteroid Chiron are together in the same place in the sky, or conjunct, in the sign of the future and of video games, Aquarius. Neptune is the planet of fantasy and UN-reality and has been transiting the sign of science and mathematics, Aquarius, since 1999! When I first was made aware of how serious the problem of bullying was becoming in today's grammar schools and junior highs, my sense of alarm was minimal due to me thinking, “Bullying classmates has been around since there were classes themselves.” I did not consider that Neptune's stationing in Aquarius for more than a decade was spawning a generation of children with computer technology in their immediate environments from birth on, who were unrivaled masters at the slack jawed, exclusively eye-to-hand-coordination skill of the video game along with having TV supply them with initial reactions to any kind of external stimuli for the better part of their lives. Even when considering the evolved aspects of Neptune, two in particular being heightened imaginations and rich fantasy worlds, they are almost completely invalidated by this planet's long trek in Aquarius. The computer or video game is the source of the majority of this particular generational child's actions, diminishing to a minimal thud any kind of independent motivation and preventing children, especially the creatively gifted, to tap into themselves and discover these gifts even exist.
The generation of schoolkids born during the 5 years prior to and during Neptune's positioning in Aquarius is showing the effects technology is having on the communication amongst children these days. Chiron, the asteroid that represents the source of deepest pain within a person, joining forces with Neptune since last December and all the way into July of 2012, is dredging up more and more painful examples in America's schools today that children and young teens are saying the most vitriolic things to their peers, even to their teachers, with not the faintest realization that words hit targets and that communication said from one person to another always has some form of emotional value attached to it.
With Saturn being placed in Libra, the sign of partnership, the mantle of responsibility regarding the communication of today's children is a collaborative effort not just with their parents, but with their siblings, teachers, grandparents, daycare providers and babysitters as well. We must all be vigilant that the words coming from the mouths of today's youth are spoken with respect, civility and emotional sensitivity to all persons, great and small.
It seems as if the lid of Pandora's box has flown fully back these days, allowing every demon, sin, and bringer of Man's misfortune to zoom freely across the Earth at full capacity upon hearing these darkest tidings from the latest news reports. Even the Law of Karma is ignored when considering the plight of these tortured souls who feel that life has no further potential and must end immediately. However, these bleak events are vehicles of awareness and hopefully of constructive change implemented by The Lord of Karma in association with the rest of the Solar System. Society owes it to these lost ones to heed the warnings and messages given by their final actions to make a concentrated effort at improving the world so these acts which overlook the Law of Karma are never repeated.
Communication that is both effective and cosmicly aware will be the salvation of us all during this period of Saturn's exalted lessons and beyond. For at the bottom of Pandora's Box was not just the passive force of Hope, beneath lies the life affirming action of Communication.
