'Passion Play 2013' coming to First Baptist Church JAX (Photos)

Now entering its 6th year, The Jacksonville Passion Play has become an annual tradition at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. The play features a choir, cast, and orchestra of more than 400 persons and a live animal. The JAX Passion Play celebrates the life, the Passion, death, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. This year’s play title is: “Threshold of Glory” and Luke Whitmire will once more perform in the role of “Jesus”.

If you’ve attended prior presentations of the FBC Passion Play, you will remember the following themes of 2012 “Shepherd of Love”; 2011 & 2010 “The Substitute”; and 2009 & 2008 “Lord, I Believe”. This year’s drama of “Threshold of Glory” will be under the musical direction of James Whitmire, Executive Pastor of Worship; Steve Bowersox, Senior Associate Worship Pastor; Edson Dickinson, Instrumental Director; Charles Darus, Associate Worship Pastor; Jonathan Welch, Associate Worship Director; & Teri Van Duyn, Children's Music Director.

TICKETS: Admission and parking are FREE. Doors open one hour prior to performance time. According to Ms. “V”, this is the time to be a blessing. If you are attending, it would be nice to give a donation to First Baptist Church. If you are unable to give a monetary donation, then come to the play and believe that, one day, you will be able to “Bless Others”. God is able!
