Passion Pit stopped by “Late Night with David Letterman” on Sept. 4, 2013 to perform “Constant Conversations.” Michael Angelakos marched around the stage passionately performing the slow jam to it's full emotional potential. “Constant Conversations” appears on Passion Pit's 2012 album “Gossamer.”
The Boston boys stuck around after “Late Night” to perform a full set on “Live on Letterman.” The performance is the first with a full band since the bulk of Passion Pit's equipment was destroyed at a very rainy Northcoast Music Festival in Chicago Labor day weekend, where they were forced perform a DJ set. Passion Pit wrote about the loss of their equipment on their website. Here's what they had to say.
“Last night in Chicago, our gear was completely annihilated by weather. 70mph winds blew tarps and covers off of our equipment, allowing enormous amounts of rain to destroy a large portion of what we now know, as of today, to be approximately 75% of our gear. As a touring band that is proud to actually perform electro-pop as opposed to just pressing play, using many keyboards, both analog and digital, this is a nightmare we’ve had for quite some time. It’s almost incredible that it hasn’t happened already.”
Head over to CBS to check out Passion Pit's full “Live on Letterman” performance, as well as the full episode of “Late Night” featuring actor Tim Robbins, football analyst Herm Edwards and Passion Pit. Letterman will be welcoming Queen Latifa, Jake Johnson and Tv on the Radio to "Late Night" tomorrow with Arsenio Hall, Dan Naturman and Laura Mvula stopping by on Friday.
