The Massachusetts pop/rock band Passion Pit will make a tour stop in Ames on February 28, when they headline Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State University campus. Icona Pop and Matt & Kim will be the opening acts. The doors at Hilton will open at 7 p.m., and the music is slated to start at 8 p.m. Tickets for the show are $25 to $32 for ISU students and $32 to $39 for the general public. Tickets may be purchased at the ISU Athletic Office or online through Ticketmaster. This is an all ages show. There will be no alcohol sold, and all tickets are general admission.
Passion Pit formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2007. The band's popularity grew rapidly, and soon the band found itself in demand at festivals like Lollapalooza, Coachella, and Splendour in the Grass. Passion Pit's first album, Manners, climbed to #51 on the Billboard 200, and charted in four other countries as well. The band's 2012 follow-up, Gossamer, cracked the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, the Alternative chart, and the Rock chart. Gossamer also produced the smash hit single "Take a Walk" (featured below). Passion Pit's latest single, "Carried Away", is currently climbing the Alternative chart.
