A new holiday version of Disney California Adventure's water spectacle will dance before guests this winter season. The production, intriguingly dubbed 'Winter Dreams,' will feature a series of "dreamlike" segments according to Disney:
- Snow – a breathtaking ride through winter
- Glow – a festive exploration of light
- Enchantment – a Disney•Pixar Toy Story version of The Nutcracker
- Spirit – a joyous sing-a-long
- Merry & Bright – a fantastic finale that features holiday light
Annual passholders will also play a part in the show. In a move reminiscent of California Adventure's first nighttime spectacle LuminAria, which premiered along with the park in 2001, the holiday version of World of Color will also include reproductions of greeting cards designed by passholders. Though this is not a contest, card entries should be creative, expressive and themed to the holiday season for a shot at making it into the show. This call for guest involvement has been a frequent theme in the Disney parks during the last decade, often involving the solicitation of park vacation photos for anniversary collages or projected video montages.
Hosted by Frozen's Olaf the snowman, 'Winter Dreams' doubles as both a holiday show and ad for Disney's upcoming animated film. Those who've already seen the wonderful World of Color will again have a reason to return to the park to see how the new show differs from the original favorite.
