Passenger has baby on flight on Armenian airline

A passenger has had a baby on a flight headed to Yerevan on Saturday. The mother and baby are reportedly doing just fine.

According to the Associated Press, a female passenger had a baby on an Armenian airline flight. The baby was born while the airplane was roughly two hours away from landing in Yerevan.

While a unique story on its own, what makes it more interesting is how the passenger decided to name her first born child.

According to reports, Armina Babayan claimed to be just six months pregnant when boarding the plane. But it wasn’t long when she started to go into labor.

Luckily, flight attendant Asmik Gevondyan noticed and quickly sprang into action. Helping to deliver the baby, Armina was of course grateful for the flight attendant’s effort.

Because of her courageous effort, Armina named her child Asmik, in honor of the attendant who helped bring her first born into the world.

Asmik Gevondyan is 31-years-old.
