Update 11/2/13: Bernie has been adopted!!
For over a month, a sweet, chocolate Labrador retriever mix named "Bernie," has waited for someone to notice him at a small, Texas animal control facility.
Two-year-old Bernie lost his home when his owner decided to surrender him to the La Porte Animal Control facility; Bernie allegedly dug holes in the yard.
Though Bernie is young, healthy and "sweet," nobody seems to notice, or care, that he is there and in need of a new home.
Now, Bernie's life is in jeopardy - the facility, which he now grudgingly calls "home," kills for space, and other dogs have recently lost their own life there; suffice to say, Bernie is living on borrowed time.
The following information has been shared about this beautiful dog:
Bernie is a very sweet boy who soaks in any attention that anyone pays him. He is no wallflower, but he is not overly exuberant either. He allows himself to be stroked and will lean in for more. When he looks at you with those eyes, your heart just melts. He's figured out how to use that "look" to keep getting more affection!
Please take a moment to share this young dog's information, before he is gone forever.
