Officers with the Newport News Police Department in Va. arrested 18-year-old Tierra Moore of Newport News after she was discovered passed out in a common area of an apartment building, with a three-month-old baby girl crying by her side.

WAVY reported on Jan. 2 that the teen mother was charged with “felony child neglect, drunk in public, possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol.”

Police say that when they managed to awaken the passed out mother, that she seemed intoxicated and disoriented, and wasn’t capable of answering basic questions, like where she lived.

Police also noted that the mother didn’t have any diapers or formula available for the three-month-old.

Moore told investigators that she drove to a nearby area with a family friend, but has no memory of anything that transpired afterwards. Moore also told police that she thinks someone may have “put something in her drink.”

Following Moore’s arrest, Child Protective Services took custody of the three-month-old.
