The Fourth Annual Pasadena Festival of Women Authors at the Pasadena Senior Center on March 3, 2012 offers an opportunity for readers to interact with nationally-recognized writers while generating funds for the Senior Center. Tickets are $85 per person. An order form can be downloaded and must be postmarked by Feb. 24, 2012.
Featured authors are Susan Straight, Take One Candle Light a Room; Fannie Flagg of Candid Camera and author of Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe; Altadenan Michelle Huneven, former award-winning restaurant and food critic for the Los Angeles Times and Los Angeles Weekly; Heidi Durrow, one of Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 Leaders of 2010 and author of The Girl Who Fell from the Sky; and moderator and best-selling novelist Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey.
MonteCedro, a planned Episcopal Communities & Services Continuing Care Retirement Community, is the presenting sponsor of the event. Peggy Buchanan, Director of Sales and Marketing at MonteCedro, is a co-chair of the Festival committee.
The festival is designed to encourage interaction between attendees and the authors, raise awareness of locally authored literature and generate funds for the Pasadena Senior Center. Attendees will be able to purchase and get them signed by the authors, and enjoy a lunch catered by El Portal.
