Party under the sun

What better way to kick off summer than by having a party by the beach? This weekend, June 4-5, is the 34th Annual Fiesta Del Sol in Fletcher Cove, located in beautiful Solana Beach.

This free event will host vendors, arts and crafts booths, fun, games, and an international food court for twelve glorious hours; 9AM to 9PM both days. There will also be a parade commorating Solana Beach's 25th "birthday" on Saturday at 9AM Starting at City Hall.

Although this is a family friendly event, if you can’t find any kids to borrow, you’re welcome to hang out in the 21+ beer garden provided and have fun there.

If you’re a bit of a tree hugger, you’ll be happy to know that there will also be a “Green Alley” where you can polish up on your eco-friendly habits, along with several non-profit booths.

The live entertainment will have you thinking you’re traveling around the world. With music genres such as funk, jazz, reggae, blues, rock, soul, and more, all booked by the Belly Up Tavern, you’re bound to catch something that tickles your fancy. Still skeptical? Some of the scheduled bands are Common Sense, Dead Feather Moon, Mike Pinto, Sol e Mar, Bedouin Soundclash, Bushwalla, Shoreline Rootz, and many more. That isn’t even counting the local bands, groups, and schools also set to perform.

So grab your friends and/or family, some sunblock, and head over the fiesta!
