Party appetizers: Serve up a dip buffet

The Super Bowl is less than a month away, and while the Buffalo Bills are once again not taking part in it, football fans in Buffalo will still be watching the big game. If you’re thinking about having a Super Bowl party, remember the three “easys” – easy to make, easy to refill and easy to clean up. One easy way to party is to host a simple dip buffet.

The beauty of a dip buffet is that many of the dips can be prepared ahead of time and simply warmed up if necessary. Dips kept at room temperature, such as hummus or basic taco dip, would simply need to be taken out of the fridge to get to room temperature, while warm dips like pizza dips and artichoke dips could be prepared and stored, heating right before the party begins.

Another fun thing about dip buffets are the variety of dippers one can have: vegetables, fruit, tortilla and pita chips, bread sticks and crackers are a few of the easy to refill dippers you can have on hand.

Dip buffets also make it easy for guests to bring a dish to pass – all you’ll be serving are dips, and there are hundreds of recipes online for dips. Here are a few of the Buffalo Baking Examiner’s favorites that she has shared here:
