Looking for a tasty and unique appetizer for your next party? Try this recipe for crab puffs, otherwise known as English muffin “crabbies.” Buffalo-area Dash’s Markets have Old York Sharp Cheddar Cheese spread on sale for $3.99 (12 ounces) this week, while Tops has Thomas’ original English muffins on sale 2/$5 (6 ct. packages).
- Six English muffins
- 2 cans (7 oz. each) crab meat, drained and dried
- 1/2 cup butter (one stick), melted
- 7 ounces cheddar cheese spread
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Split English muffins and toast lightly, then cut each half into quarters and place on baking sheets. Combine crabmeat, butter, cheese, seasoned salt, garlic salt and mayonnaise in a bowl and spread onto muffins. Freeze for at least 30 minutes, then place under the broiler and bake until puffed and golden brown (approximately 3 to 5 minutes).
