The end of 2013 saw the spark that ignited into flames on screens and in the box office. The sequel to The Hunger Games, ‘Catching Fire’ rallied all to root on their favorite tributes and watch the action unfold. The sequel opened large in November with over $158 million to set the record for highest in the exciting month. Grossing $418,182,152 domestically, the film set the bar for highest total beating out the likes of Iron Man 3 ($409, 013,994) to take the crown for 2013. ‘Catching Fire’ has gone on to take a worldwide total of $854,055,545.

The highly successful films, based off of Suzanne Collins’ young adult book series, have two more films to hit theaters. The book series only has three entries, though the film series took a different route. Such as Twilight breaking the fourth novel into two films, Mockingjay will meet the same treatment. The first part is due November 21st, 2014.

That is right, the wait for the return of Katniss is looming closer. Granted it is simply January, but more Hunger Games action will be coming your way in good time. The second part will hit theaters in 2015, November 20th to be precise.

Recently the production team released the first poster for Mockingjay Part 1, take a gander here!

Jennifer Lawrence along with many others from Catching Fire will reprise their roles in Mockingjay Part 1!
