Not one to take another’s word for it, your LA Travel Diva Examiner tested it out today with her friend Vicky—a couple of figure-conscious foodies who appreciate any chef that can create tasty guilt-free fare that Executive Chef Gabriel Ask has done. Now if you’re a guy going there who prefers more macho fare, no worries, chef has you covered.

So Ms. Vicky and I met there today, she was on her way to have her hair done at a nearby salon. And later in the day we were both scheduled for serious exercise sessions. We ordered some wines by the glass but were a bit taken aback by the exorbitant prices such as the highest $25 for just an okay brand and $14 and $17 for others. Way too pricy even for Beverly Hills.

The food however while not cheap was worth every dollar. We shared plates of truly surreal Hamachi, a Yellowtail tuna tostada, a spicy tuna rolls and a quinoa Tabouleh salad—each one tickling our palates, light but with enough depth to fuel us for our afternoon sessions at the gym for our spinning, Pilates and yoga classes.

Okay guys for you Chef has created a Tiffin Box which is sort of like a Bento box that’s a complete meal with four offerings that changes daily (it was too rich for our tastes). You ca also have a 48 Hour Brisket sandwich, a ham and cheese sandwich (on a baguette), charcuterie selections, mac & cheese and even short rib croquettes. And of course deserts such as raspberry ganache tart, Neapolitan profiteroles and hazelnut chocolate cake (which we graciously declined).

To book a table inside or on the patio call 310-499-4199. Being a bar, Parq also pours adult beverages all day long.
