Parole for man in fight that broke ankle of girlfriend thrown off car

A 22-year old man who broke his girlfriend’s ankle when she was thrown from her own car during an argument avoided jail time today in a plea agreement, CLIFFVIEWPILOT.COM is reporting.

However, Ricky McMillian of Paterson received a reprimand from Superior Court Judge Edward Jerejian, who sentenced him to three years probation for third-degree aggravated assault.

“You dragged her, breaking her ankle – for what?” the judge asked. “Because you’re a man? You could have killed her.”

McMillian and his then-girlfriend were in a movie theater in Paramus on Dec. 5, 2011 when they began arguing.
