What: You’re invited to experience PARK(ing) Day which is an annual celebration with worldwide events where artists, designers and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks.
Did you know? According to Rebar Group, the purpose of "PARK(ing) Day is to call attention to the need for more urban open space, to generate critical debate around how public space is created and allocated, and to improve the quality of urban human habitat."
Who: Open to general public for free worldwide nevertheless, local participants can submit photos, and descriptions of your company, individual or group PARKing Day project to U.S. Green Building Council Maryland and they will share and then give fun prizes to the best looking spots.
When: September 20, 2013
Where: The parking spot of your choosing throughout Maryland or worldwide.
FYI: Are you interested in designing and installing a space in 1 of 28 parking spots surrounding the AIABaltimore Chapter House on the theme Design for Good. Why not showcase your design skills to the public, build teamwork, connect with a local non-profit or small business, and demonstrate good design and “design for good”.
