Residents in Parker, Colorado can now access neighborhood crime information 24 hours a day online – in near real time.
The Parker Police Department and the Douglas County Sherrif have both partnered with CrimeReports.com to provide citizens with a free Online Crime Alerting and Mapping service. Residents can view maps of reported crimes ranging from 3 to 30 days prior and can set up daily, weekly, or monthly email alerts of any reported crimes in their area.
According to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office press release, information regarding criminal activity is updated nightly and includes the following:
- Incident type
- Date
- Location
- Distance from citizen’s address
- Event identification/case number
- Brief crime incident description
An interesting analytics feature is available that gathers crime information into graphs showing total number of crimes for a given period, crime as a percentage of total crime, and crime trends.
Parker citizens can access crime information by logging on to www.crimereports.com and entering address information. The map provided is user-friendly and alerts are easy to set up.
Parker residents are encouraged to stay informed about their neighborhoods and utilize this new crime mapping service.
