Marquael Odoric Greer, 32, faces animal cruelty charges after his arrest on Wednesday for allegedly throwing his girlfriend's six-month-old Chihuahua out of a moving vehicle in Parker County, Texas on Interstate 20 last week reported the Star-Telegram.

Greer is reported to have grabbed the puppy during an argument with his girlfriend who had been holding the white male puppy on her lap, and in a fit of rage threw the defenseless animal out of the moving vehicle. He also has been charged with assaulting the woman and another passenger in the car.

The puppy did not survive.

Greer remains in the Dallas County Jail and has been charged with cruelty to non livestock animals.
