Park Meadows Pilates & Physical Therapy announces its Grand Re-Opening- Friday, September 6, 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Showcasing Metro Denver’s only Core Align® and Balanced Body Barre™ classes, this South Denver Pilates Studio offers optimal core training for performance athletes and everyday living.
Core Align® was developed by Israeli physical therapist Jonathan Hoffman. According to pilates.com, he approached Balanced Body Pilates to further refine his invention. After five years of testing and development, Balanced Body and Hoffman have produced a piece of apparatus that is deceptively simple looking and uniquely challenging. The platform moves smoothly and is handled easily by both beginners and advanced while the sturdy ladder provides stability and a surface to work against. You can stand on the platform or place your hands on the apparatus to work out every single muscle in your body!
Barre workout is the latest trend in fitness and an ideal complement to a Pilates, Yoga or Group Exercise program. According to pilates.com Balanced Body Barre™ was created by Zayna Gold, the founder of Boston Body Pilates as a dynamic, safe and effective Barre workout based on Pilates movement principles. Designed for Pilates instructors, fitness professionals, and those looking to enhance their own fitness experience. Balanced Body Barre™ emphasizes safety and body awareness while keeping the intensity and high energy of a Barre workout at the forefront. Instructors will come away able to teach in any setting.
“How are you doing out there, in the real world?” asks Lindy Royer, Park Meadows Pilates & Physical Therapy’s Founder and Director. “You can take classes and do exercises that don’t have anything to do with real life activities and movement; but what if you could practice and strengthen movements you actually perform each day? Since the Pilates industry is unregulated, some Pilates studios train their instructors in only a week. Our teachers complete a comprehensive teacher training program and are certified through the PMA (Pilates Method Alliance). They undergo 500 hours of mandatory course work and apprenticeship in a minimum one year program,” says Royer.
Royer points out this certification is voluntary and that in addition to their extensive Pilates training, her instructors are experienced in a variety of disciplines, including physical therapy, Franklin Method and Gyrotonic.
“You trust your mechanic to take care of your car, but your body has to last a lifetime. Our clients know they can trust us to take care of their bodies for the long run,” says Royer.

"Not all Barre programs are safe for everyone. I love the Balanced Body Barre™ approach because that it emphasizes safety, optimal alignment and body awareness while keeping the fun and energy of a Barre workout. Our goal is to elevate the fun factor and allow our Denver clients to experience the Pilates philosophy in a completely new way,” says Royer.
Royer is an Australian trained Physiotherapist, licensed in Colorado; a PMA Certified Pilates Practitioner; a Balanced Body Education Faculty Member; an Advanced Neuro-Structural Integration Practitioner and a Level II Franklin Method Educator.
“What’s going on between your ears is just as important as what’s going on in your body. When utilizing Core Align®, Balanced Body Barre™ and our other training modalities we help you find your ideal body-mind alignment through visualization and relatable image cues to help you know where you are in space when you’re not in front of a mirror or in here with an instructor. After all, you are operating your own hard drive,” says Royer.
