The hit musical "Les Misérables" had its Paris premiere as part of Avenue Du Cinema Festival at Cinema Gaumont Marignan on Feb. 6, 2013, in Paris, France. " Les Misérables " was directed by Tom Hooper and stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway.
Gracing the red carpet at the Paris premiere were Cameron Mackintosh, Anne Hathaway, director Tom Hooper and Eddie Redmayne.
“Les Misérables,” set in 19th-century France, features the story of Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) who for decades has been hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert (Russell Crowe) after he breaks parole. Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's (Anne Hathaway) daughter, Cosette (Isabelle Allen/Amanda Seyfried). The fateful decision changes their lives forever.
"Les Misérables" has grossed over $140 million in the U.S. since its release on Christmas day. The hit musical won three Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical, Best Actor to Hugh Jackman and Best Supporting Actress to Anne Hathaway. The film has been nominated for a total of eight Academy Awards and has a very good chance of continuing to add to its award collection.
"Les Misérables" is rated PG-13 for suggestive and sexual material, violence and thematic elements and has a run-time of 2 hours and 37 minutes.
