Paris Hilton was given exclusive treatment when she was booked into a Las Vegas jail recently. Hilton, who has been charged with felony cocaine possession, was reportedly pushed through the typical booking process due to her star status.
People.com reports that Hilton stayed only three hours at the Clark County Detention Center. That's about five to 21 hours shorter than the typical time it takes to be booked for the same offense.
People.com quotes Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Deputy Chief Jim Dixon, "Yeah, she was treated differently so I don't have a disruption of my process here at the county jail ... When you bring somebody in like that, everybody comes over and tries to look at them. I'd have officers attempting to keep inmates away from her. I'd have disruptions ... She was moved along out of the general area and put in isolation where nobody can actually get to her ... That wouldn't be fair to her. It wouldn't be fair to my officers. It wouldn't be fair to the other inmates ... To put Paris Hilton in an open dorm area with male inmates and female inmates would shut down my process."
US Magazine reports that a police report reveals that socialite Paris Hilton was arrested on August 27 after an officer who stopped Hilton on the Las Vegas Strip Friday night smelled "the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle."
She was with her boyfriend, Cy Waits in a Black Cadillac Escalade when they were pulled over. Waits charged with driving under the influence.
Hilton took to Twitter two days after her arrest to tell her fans, "I'm so thankful to all my fans for all the love and support you are giving me."
She hasn't tweeted much more about it other than a Tweet on September 1, "These rumors going around are so ridiculous, untrue and cruel. I'm not going to even pay attention to them, because I know the truth."
Paris Hilton faces felony drug-possession charges and has a Oct. 27 arraignment.

It wouldn't be fair to her?? She was arrested....no star treatment should happen
Bet she thought it was unfair to be arrested in the first place
Oh ... to be a celebrity . . .
An arrest is an arrest-you do the crime-you do the time-NO EXCEPTIONS!! That is what is partially wrong with society today. We put "celebs" on pedestals and quite frankly-they need to be taken down!
I agree. There is no equality
