From the brilliant draping to crystal embroidery to the sweet flow of pale pinks and reds, and the ethereal shroud of silk, lace and tulle, everything about the collection was familiar, yet new. But there was one underlying them as is in each of his collections; femininity.
It's the red carpet whisperer, Elie Saab. The chic and feminine collection speaks loud volumes about the designer's ability to create fabulous looks for a woman's curves or the ability to create the illusion of curves where there are none. We have always said that the Elie Saab collection is for the sexy, confident woman who wants to show off those feminine curves. The Lebanese-born designer knows how to dress a woman.
According to Gracia UK, Elie Saab described the S/S 2013 haute couture collection as paying homage to “fragile elegance.” And from the runway show, the description was fitting. There was something very dainty, very elegant and very ladylike from start to finish.
The timeless, chic elegant dresses looked like something you would want to wear to the next Inaugural ball, but something about the price tag reminds you that next time you see the gowns, they will be on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards or the Academy Awards and you will wonder to yourself whether these were custom creations for Nina Dobrev, Halle Berry, Heidi Klum or Angelina Jolie.
