Parents-toddler pot case: Teen couple, grandfather forced marijuana on child

A parents-toddler pot case update revealed startling information about a teenage couple in New York arrested last week. Allegedly, a nearly two-year-old child was forced to smoke marijuana by their mom, dad, and grandfather, according to a Dec. 14 New York Daily News report.

Police say the parents made their toddler smoke pot and the grandfather took part or watched and did absolutely nothing to stop the reckless behavior from the teens.

Authorities with the Chautauqua County sheriff's office claim they received an anonymous tip from someone who said the three adults "helped or encouraged" the toddler to smoke cannabis from a lit bowl in the family's Mayville apartment.

The mother and the grandfather is encouraging the child [inaudible]...the marijuana pipe, lit it for the baby and gave it to em and encouraged them to inhale," said Charles Holder, undersheriff with the county (via Newsy).

Ironically, the residence is located across the street from the county courthouse and next door to the sheriff's office. Imagine that?

Jessica Kelsey, 17, George Kelsey, 18, and Jessica's 54-year-old father, Don Baker, were arraigned Friday. They all face various charges ranging from second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. Bail was set at $20,000.

Sources say the toddler who was forced to smoke marijuana -- and another sibling -- are in the custody of Child Protective Services for Chautauqua County.
