“Brothers and sisters, you have forgotten the exhortation addressed to you as children: ‘My son, do not disdain the discipline of the Lord or lose heart when reproved by him; for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines; he scourges every son he acknowledges.’ Endure your trials as ‘discipline’; God treats you as sons. For what ‘son’ is there whom his father does not discipline? At the time, all discipline seems a cause not for joy but for pain, yet later it brings the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who are trained by it.
“So strengthen your drooping hands and your weak knees. Make straight paths for your feet, that what is lame may not be disjointed but healed.” [Hebrews 12:5-7, 11-13]
Every parent disciplines their children in order for them to be productive, good people, and can be proud of as integral part of a community.
Education/spirituality starts at home and the parents are the ones who have big responsibilities to nurture them and teach them strong values that they can pass-on to the next generation.
We have a saying that you cannot teach a new tricks to an old dog. Start them on their younger year and moving forward. Love is the essence of God and to watch his flock; we have to do our part to live a better world and to the next life.
Parents are accountable whatever the outcome of that child. All of us have given “free-will” by God. Are we fearful to face the consequences?
Some parents are trying to bribe their children through a gizmo to keep them busy. However, these kids are not interacting with others, and it has a bad effect on their character because they are drawn to be loners.
Parents should be observant and be aware of signs in order to prevent it. It is the responsibility of parents to know the whereabouts of their kids and to know their friends, as well. Oversee what they (children) watch on TV, movies they watch, computer games they play and music they listen to.
We can see senseless violence that occurs in our society and if that child has a strong value, then we may not see this?
Parents should lead by examples to see the changes in this culture of death.
