Parents of dead passenger in Ryan Dunn car crash suing late actor's estate

The parents of the passenger that was killed, along with Ryan Dunn in a car crash on June 20, 2011, are suing the estate of the late "Jackass" star. News of the lawsuit first broke on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 8, 2012 and claims that Dunn was extremely drunk when he wrecked his Porsche. The claims state that Dunn is the one responsible for killing their son, Zachary Hartwell.

In the accident back in June of 2011, police reported that Dunn had been drinking very heavily and crashed into a tree going 132 mph. Hartwell and Dunn died to injuries sustained in the crash that totaled the Porsche and engulfed it in flames.

The lawsuit filed by Hartwell's parents is actually against Dunn and the bar where the late actor had been drinking before the crash. They claim that Barnaby's West Chester was negligent in serving Dunn after it was obvious that he had already had too much.

The Hartwells claim Dunn was negligent as well and reckless by getting behind the wheel and operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Of course, the high speeds at which he was driving is also mentioned.

So far, it is not specified as to how much Hartwell's parents are suing for.

It has been said though that Dunn's estate and Barnaby's should pay for the "pre-impact fright, fear, pain, and suffering" that Zach Hartwell went through before he died. In addition, Hartwell's parents want both parties to pay for any wages their son would have earned during his life.
