Parents if this if your first child you will realize parenting is new.  Some parents fail to understand; where their child level of speech should be a concern. During the doctor visit to the pediatrician the doctor will ask how many words your child speaks. The pediatrician will than give the parent and ratio of how many words are expected. There are different signs that a parent should be aware of. For instance if he or she is babbling, or seem frustrated; this is a sign of communication problem.  The child will become overwhelmed when he or she cannot express themselves. Reason being the child needs are not being met. They may want to read a certain book, or wear on a different color shirt; but you are unable to interpret what he or she may be asking for.

A good pediatrician will refer parents to a specialist for hearing problems. Usually parents wondered what the doctor is implying; when the pediatrician states the following statement. Children between the age two should speak anywhere from fifty to seventy words. Children that are three years should speak in complete sentences. This generally means that some doctors feel that the child is behind their age group. Generally children usually regress when there is a new sibling born. When the parent takes their child to a specialist as suggested. There will be a hearing test distributed which generally involves a consultation with a family therapist.  The therapist will observe the child during sharing, eating, and playing. This evaluation will determine if the child has autism or any other development delays. Usually the child will pass the hearing test but fail the observation try not to panic at this point. The specialist might recommend that your child receive regular therapy. Without given any diagnosis for autism or any other development delay.  This is the time that parent s should be alarm. Parents you are allowed to ask for different test to be run to get and accurate diagnosis. Try not to be force into unecessary therapy until you are given a detail report from test distrubuted.

Parents this should be a time to agree that your son or daughter would not be label simply from a one-hour visit.  Usually when a child has been isolated from other peers in his or her age group. This alone can bring on certain behaviors especially speech. This is a time you may want to considered day care or joining a play group.  This will help with the intention of giving him or her social skills with the increase of their vocabulary.  The transition will seem hard at first. Since the child feels comfortable with being around their family and a familiar environment. The transition will be well worth it.  Around twelve months, you should see a change that your child is quite talkative and love to be around other people.  The more you read to your children and interact on their level, the more you will see them grow into their own.
