On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, The Parents' Association of The Chabad Preschool at Beekman Place (www.beekmanjewishpreschool.com) held a fundraiser at The Friar's Club, 57 East 55th Street, New York NY.
This Scotch and Spirits fundraiser included over 30 types of Scotch whisky, an amazing Chef's buffet and a live comedy show and auction!
Now the mission of The Chabad Preschool at Beekman Place which is a small, intimate Jewish preschool is to provide a warm and nurturing environment where children can grow and develop emotionally, cognitively and physically. Each child in the preschool is viewed as a seed that is nurtured with the utmost care. Chabad's preschool approach is guided with the recognition that each child has their own very unique qualities and in that recognition that each child has his or her very unique needs. The school's students are therefore viewed as collaborators. They are viewed as competent, curious, inquisitive, unique and creative. Each child that enters The Chabad Preschool becomes a treasured member of The Chabad Preschool family!
Now the hostess of this evening's event was Raizy Metzger, The Director of this amazing preschool who is also married to Rabbi Schmuel Metzger, the Chabad Preschool's Dean. Raizy shared that she envisioned The Chabad Preschool to become part of a larger community center. That this larger community center would have a broad range of programs for both children and adults and would also serve to support the special needs community as well.
Raizy also wanted parents to know that The Chabad Preschool at Beekman Place (www.beekmanjewishpreschool.com) was an excellent precursor into any of New York City's private prep schools.
