Parents and educators can now download free resources for Sesame Workshop’s Healthy Habits for a Lifetime, a program initiative that was very much in the news when First Lady, Michelle Obama visited the set of Sesame Street on May 6, 2009.

Mrs. Obama was not only taping a public service announcement, but providing inspiration and motivation on a subject that she herself as a mother, has a vested interest – helping children make healthy choices about the food they eat and the exercise they get.

The written downloadable series that supports the initiative is divided into three parts, which covers the following topics: Section 1 – Healthy Habits for Life/ Care Resource Kit Introduction; Section 2:- Food and Drink to Grow On and Section 3 – Every Day is a Healthy Day.

The materials provide caregiver strategies and tips for implementing a healthy lifestyle along with activities, recipes and games that can be shared with children to promote positive choices and changes.
