Parenting:The hardest and the most rewarding job

Is parenting the most difficult job in the world? As a mother of two, I think so! Think about this for a minute, every morning you wake up to go to work and at the end of each day you leave the office. It is not a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 day a year job. If you are having a bad day at the office, you can leave at 5:00 PM and remove yourself from the nagging boss. When your child is having a fit that occurs several times throughout the day, removing yourself is not so easy, neither is removing the stress that comes with the tantrums or the nagging of , "mommy, mommy, daddy, daddy " all day long.

I am a working mother. I enjoy my work immensely but during the day as a working mother, I am still a hands on mom. I send my children off to school in the morning and always try to be home when they get home from school. In addition to that job as many of you parents know, during the day I may get a call from school that I have to go pick up one of my children because they are sick. Otherwise, I am trying to juggle my schedule to be at one of their holiday parties. Or even better, be at both of their holiday parties at the same time. As mother and fathers, we know this drill all too well.

Do not think however for one moment that I am upset about being a full time parent and a working parent. I actually love it and need if for my sanity. It keeps me grounded. I believe that my children appreciate everything that I do and can see that I can multitask. With that being said, I am tired and sometimes stressed at the end of each day. I have to rejuvenate myself on a weekly basis . This occurs believe it or not through my countless cups of coffee (I just want to say thank you to the companies that make all the coffee creamer flavors) and watching my children's sporting events. But it is all good!

The joy of being a parent is the most rewarding job I have ever had as a human being. It can be difficult and of course challenging at times, but remember that best things in life are worth fighting for. There are no other two people in my universe that provide me with more joy and happiness on a daily basis than my two children. Being their mother is the best job I have ever had!

Happy Valentine's Day Parents!
