Great article! My sister-in-law was a helicopter parent for many years. When her oldest, who had achieved straight A's all through school, went away to college, she flunked almost all her classes the first semester and was put on academic probation. Why? Because she didn't know how to think for herself and organize for herself. She always had someone hovering over her and telling her what to do. These parents are doing their children a great disservice. Thanks for bringing up this important topic!
